Each of the dogs has preliminary x-rays done for orthopedics around 1 year. At 2 years  of age they are x-rayed  again and films submitted to OFA for certification of hips and elbows whether I intend to breed them or not. In addition I also have their eyes CERF tested. All large breed dogs particularly large boned working dogs have a higher risk for hip and elbow dysphasia than their smaller relatives. This is why Keepsake and every responsible breeder does the screenings and certifications described above. Please be aware that no matter how good the parents hips/elbows have been rated; hip and elbow dysplasia can still be produced in their offspring.  Environment and nutrition can also have an influence.
